BDForum - written in ASP

The BDForum project aims to create a simple to implement and easy to administer forum. The forum is aimed at personal and special interest websites.
After a quick search around the internet it became apparent that the only decent ASP based forums were only available for a fee and didn't allow the end user a freehand in customisation.

The project aims are:

Offer a robust forum solution for free.

Include standard forum functionality found in products like Vbulletin and UltimateBBS

Make all code available to allow individual customisation and enhancements

The development guidelines that have been identified thus far are:

Coding - will be written in ASP (no middle tier components)

Database - SQL server will be the only database supported.(initially)

CSS - Style sheets will be the main customisation tool.

Registration - will be optional and via emailed activation hyperlink method.

Administration - will be possible via web interface.

Development Methodology:

All members donate there time for free, no one will get rich. :0)

Source Code Control will be via CVS

Anyone may ask to participate in the project, but it is preferable that you are supported by an existing member.

Anyone may use the existing version to develop their own separate system.

Possible Future Sub Projects:

Bug tracking / system support version

The project license:

GNU public license will control the distribution.

People / businesses that use the software must give due recognition (hyperlink to this site)
